Now Why Is There a WM 31 Screenshot?
2K realeased an article today stating the basic and new features for their new WWE 2K17 video game. It went through the basic subjects including the Gameplay, Creation Suite, 2K Showcase, Universe Mode, and MyCareer.
Gameplay:
It seems as if 2K have been listening to their audiences and their requests as Backstage Brawling as well as Crowd Fighting have made a comeback returning to the game, however that wasn't it. Obviously there was the addition of many more animations so it's not just Russian Leg Sweep after Russian Leg Sweep like in WWE 2K15. One thing that caught my eye however was when it said they added a secondary submission system as in WWE 2K16 their submission system was met with mixed responses.
Creation Suite:
Everything has been brought back from Creating an Arena and Show to Creating Your Own Superstar (Which Your Able to Add Body Hair On?) Anyways, a feature that was introduced all the way back in the THQ days was brought back which is the addition of a Create a Video mode, where you can create your very own Entrance Video/Highlight Reel, also there is this new Create a Victory mode which we didn't get much info on.
Universe Mode:
There was a heavy emphasis on recreating the action you saw every single week on Raw, SmackDown Live, and NXT so the team with their Show Presentation System would try to accomplish that by adding run in's as well as pre and post match attacks. Add on their new promo engine and you can create one heck of world.
My Career:
However, the one thing that could make or break a superstar is: promos and 2K decided to implement that into universe mode. Basically there was some more depth into the interviews backstage, but when you combine that with the backstage brawls that could come out of nowhere, then you have success.
2K Showcase:
Now the elephant in the room, 2K Showcase Mode. It had been a welcome addition in the last two versions of the game, WWE 2K16 and WWE 2K15, and everyone thought that this year's showcase would feature BRRROCK LESNARRRR! However, that would be false, instead we would get no showcase mode at all. Why, because 2K wouldn't be able to get some key characters from past *cough Hulk cough Hogan* and from the present *cough CM cough Punk*. Also they believed it wouldn't be up to speed and quality, so they would focus those efforts on the other parts of the game.
WWE 2K17 is on some pretty thin ice, now that 2K Showcase is gone but with the additions of promos and backstage brawls we still have hope.
